happy little things

so maybe I'm not always happy with the way my life is turning out, but I do believe that I have the power to change it. I am going to change it.
soo anyways!
I have been bit by the sewing bug. I haven't actually "done" much sewing yet, mostly browsing inspiration photos and things along that line. But, I think when I put my mind to something, I am pretty good at getting it done, learning it, and doing it well. I hope this goes for sewing as well.
Some of my favs I have seen lately.

outta control

Wow, its been awhile...
I have been busy, I guess. Life is getting away from me. It seems like the nights go faster and the days go slower (at work, not weekends!)
I volunteered to teach CCD and am now the newest Kindergarten CCD teacher! Its fun, I have only had two classes so far with six kids (5 girls, 1 boy--poor guy!). One little lady loves to jabber the entire time so I've been working on keeping her under control and letting the others talk. Its interesting to be around them because when you aren't around school aged kids, or little kids for that matter, you forget what they can and cannot do and what kind of information they can grasp and what they don't understand. Its a learning experience but I think it will be very rewarding.
I'm still doing the knitting group, but haven't been there for two weeks now... I just feel so bombarded with things to get done around the house (dh has been gone every weekend since labor day and then an entire 9 days and I could REALLY use some help around this house!). I will hopefully make it there this Tuesday.
I'm getting more into sewing, I haven't actually DONE anymore sewing, but I'm gearing myself up for it. Does that make sense?! :) JoAnn's had all their clearance fabric 50% off the red tag price, so I loaded up on some awesome home decor fabrics for some Christmas gifts. Now, I just need to find time to actually make them.
I have a craft sale {maybe two} coming up the first weekend in November and I have a feeling its going to be here before I know it and I need to do some inventory on the things I have and what I need to make so I am somewhat put together for this big event! I hope its worth it.
Last Thursday, I went to a wine and cheese party at our church with a lady up the street. No one my age of course, where all the 24 year olds around here?!?! Anyways, I decided to join a circle of ladies in the church called "sisters in faith". I am actually really excited for it and I think it will help me grow in my faith A LOT and help me to meet a lot of ladies in our parish, which is exactly what I want to happen. So, I'm excited for that. I feel like I'm finally making a life here, probably for myself and not my dh and I, but we like totally different things. So I guess we are still working on that area in our lives.
We have almost been married for ONE YEAR! October 7 is our anniversary. Its been a hard year. I've wanted to give up many times but I'm holding on... I actually made an appointment to go see someone on some of our issues because we go around and around on certain things and I just don't want a relationship like that. I want to be with someone that I can sit down and talk with and he can understand my feelings and I can understand his. I want to be with someone who will make me feel important and loved every single day, even when the rest of the world leaves me feeling sad. So.... its a work in progress. Marriage isn't easy, but its worth it. (right?)
Will try to post more and add some PICS to my blog~!

my mom, my hero

You know, when you are younger you think your parents don't know a darn thing. Its funny how the way your perceive your parents changes as you get older. And it might be the fact that we live a few hundred miles away and visits aren't as often as we'd like. I would just LOVE to be able to get in the car, drive one hour and see my parents. But, its more like a six hour trip.

My mom came on Friday for Labor Day weekend and stayed until Monday. It was one of the best weekends I have had in a long time. It was just so nice to be able to spend time with her and do the things we love, together. I'm used to always doing them alone and it is quite nice to have someone to share those experiences with.

She is an awesome lady, SO darn smart, and patient. I have much to learn from her. She is truly an amazing woman for what she has went through and all she has done so far.

I was really sad when she left, and I'm still sad... I miss her A LOT and the fact of knowing that we probably won't live closer in the next few years makes it worse. But god has a plan for everyone and I just need to be patient (right mom?).
