i guess life just gets busy and gets away from you... although i'm kinda bored right now. :) actually, I'm just waiting in anticipation to get a big project rolling. . .
updates for us: one day three weeks ago, we were looking at putting in laminate floors... the next day we went to an open house for a builder in town and talked with his realtor. then we decided to build a house. we are crazy, i tell you!!!
so the weekend after that, we met with the realtor and the project manager, looked at two more floor plans, found a great lot, and signed a buy/sell. the next day the lot was ours and we were on our way to being the newest homeowners in the subdivision!!!
fast forward to this week... the permits have been obtained and they will dig the hole for our house next week! I need to get over to our lot this weekend to take some pictures of the bare ground, I'm going to try to document the whole thing through photos. because who knows the next time we will build a home!!!
its all very exciting and new and i have ten million questions about everything... but its fun. a little stressful because im weary about the interest rates right now, we won't be able to lock in until probably may. :( i'm hoping for 5.5 or 5.625%... please god! right now our rate is 6.5% with our current home.
i guess the lender is going to talk to me about a conventional loan today so we'll see....
here are some pictures of the floorplan we have chosen, in someone else's house. my DH is going to wire our entire house (hello money saver!!) so our lighting will probably be different, and our cabinets will be a darker cherry color, and tan walls, not white. we will also have a THREE stall garage!!!! total upgrade from our skinny one stall right now that we can't fit anything else in! eek!
our basement will be unfinished but that will be a good project to keep DH busy during the non-hunting season..
